The concept of this logbook came from listening to leaders and workers discuss performance review time. They said performance reviews were:
- Time-consuming – a lot of effort put in by everyone twice or so a year.
- Gave no value to the individual – the process felt one-sided. No value was given back to the worker.
- Poor quality – the “recency effect” (the bias to only remember recent information) occurred; people were judged on what had happened in the last few months, not a review of the entire period.
